Szechuan peppercorns - a key ingredient to so many Asian dishes. Slightly hot, very fragrant and with a tongue tingling effect they really help to amp up the flavour of your meal. The citrussy notes it imbues gives it a much more interesting flavour profile than your standard black peppercorns.


We have provided some ideas for using it below:


  • Lightly toast the peppercorns and then crush - use the resulting powder as part of a herb rub for a joint of lamb or pork before roasting
  • Spicy peanut noodles 
  • Szechuan style aubergines
